Accor just sent an email about an “all-new” Pullman hotel in Phuket that is neither new nor currently a Pullman.

The Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort is exiting the Hilton system on March 31st and is switching signage overnight to become a Pullman Phuket Arcadia Karon Beach Resort from April 1st, 2023.

You can access Accor’s page for Pullman Phuket Arcadia Karon Beach Resort here.

The hotel joined Hilton in 2003 and was set to exit already on January 31st (read more here), but for some reason, the affiliation was extended through the end of March (read more here).

Conclusion

Accor claims that this hotel is all-new that cannot be the case, as it opened 40 years ago in 1983 and became joined the Hilton system in 2003.

The hotel needed renovations when I stayed there in the fall of 2021, and I am not aware that any significant work would have been done.

Instead of being “all-new,” it will be an old and tired Pullman. The owner needs to spend significant money to bring the property into the 2020s.
